Fettuccine Alfredo, USA
Ingredients
- 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
- In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. If using, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently for about 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce:
- Add cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
- Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan if desired. Serve hot
