Fettuccine Alfredo, USA



Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce:
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. If using, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently for about 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
    • Add cooked fettuccine to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
    • Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan if desired. Serve hot
